She Wants Money
The self-proclaimed Pop Purist of Kennett, Missouri (his "Mackytoons" Newsletter should be considered Required Reading by each and every one of you out there) began his musical career in 1979 as leader and founder of The Trend, writing as well as co-producing their entire Billboard-acclaimed "The Trend Is In!" long-player from '82. Five years later, however, the dreaded "real world" caught up with the band, and distractions such as adulthood and real employment caused its five members to pack their instruments sorrowfully away. John, despite a career in law, resumed recording in 1993, and his new music has graced such esteemed releases as those in the "Yellow Pills" and "Pop Under The Surface" series. "She Wants Money," originally written in a Boyce & Hart / Monkee Mike style for The Trend, has been recently re-demo'd with an engineer assist from John Sousan (an accomplished gospel rocker who has all sorts of equipment hanging around his house), and now appears here in the way it was originally envisioned by Mr. McMullan ..."all those years ago."
