Perhaps Kentucky's greatest natural treasure, Rick is one of the undisputed masters and champions of home recording, having to date released three cassette albums of demos to worldwide acclaim. "Brand New Favorite Song" is his self-described effort to write a commercial-sounding song using standard Modern Country chord changes, yet with a touch of something intentionally more "deep". Captured by a Shure SX-50 microphone and laid down onto a Tascam 464 inside a hundred year old former schoolhouse, this ode to love lost but still longed after can also be heard on his great "RickenHarper" CD.
